[Sqft-l] Brussels Sprouts
Glad to see that a good list isn't going to die.
First timer this year, went light on the zuccini
planting, one plant for me and one for the DH, as per
Mel B's suggestion. It's worked out great, a perfect
amount of zuccini. This may be because I like them so
small and pick them religously.
My big problem has been my brussels sprout. Since I
couldn't find any spacing suggestions I foolishly went
ahead and decided that since they were just another
cabbage I would plant them 1 per square. They took
over everything!! Shaded out lettuces planted nearby
and shoved tomatoes out of the way to get more space.
I bought transplants this year to make it easier on
myself. Did I get JUMBO sized ones or are they all
this big? It looks like next year I'm going to have to
use 4 squares per plant. Has anyone had success with
brussels sprouts in the SQFT garden? Any varieties
that stay more compact?
Thanks for getting the list up and running.
