My big problem has been my brussels sprout. Since I
couldn't find any spacing suggestions I foolishly went
ahead and decided that since they were just another
cabbage I would plant them 1 per square. They took
over everything!! Shaded out lettuces planted nearby
and shoved tomatoes out of the way to get more space.
I bought transplants this year to make it easier on
myself. Did I get JUMBO sized ones or are they all
this big? It looks like next year I'm going to have to
use 4 squares per plant. Has anyone had success with
brussels sprouts in the SQFT garden? Any varieties
 that stay more compact? >>

Mine got a big too..I planted mine giving them a bit of space though. I
gave them a section that is 3'x2' and have 2 plants in that area..this seems
to serve them well...I also planted some flowers, and lettuce in that
area..by the time the sprouts took over the lettuce had mostly bolted, in
fact I think the BS helped shade the lettuce and get me an extra week of
harvest.
