Re: Brussels Sprouts & broccoli
Last fall when I was pregnant, hubby picked some broccoli, soaked it and
steamed it. Then, as I was about to take a bite, I discovered worms!!!!
Well, I almost lost my lunch. The rest of the year I couldn't bring myself
to even try broccoli again. Hubby was devestated and didn't even plant any
this year.
On the other hand, we have never found worms inside a Brussels Sprout, but
hubby picked a bunch and blanched them in the house on a very chilly day, and
I almost lost my lunch again. LOL
I have managed to eat some BS since that little incident, so maybe all hope
is not lost for the broccoli. LOL
So yes, worms seem to survive the long soaking process, but not the steam.
