for spider mites I use the Phytoseiulus persimills a predatory mite. I get them on bean leafs. I like that better as they are not so shakenup and work for me in the greenhouse. They use these predatory mites on strawberries out here in Ca. and they seem to work. the persimills will eat spider mites tell they are gone then dye because there is no more food. They are faster than the bad mites and reproduce as long as the light and weather and food supply is right. lace wings last about 3 weeks as larva and will eat all that time and lots of different things even eachother they are bad to the bone . I had one try to eat me. these guys are hungry but for a short time yet the orange predatory mite will last tell all the food is gone. having the bad bugs will keep the good bugs around. all this stuff takes time and will work better if you catch it early before the mites build up .Predatory mites work on house and office plants also. I know that there are lots of mites and the ones persimilis eats are the two-spotted spider mite. they have 2 little dots on their backside(two-spotted). I use a 16x loupe to look at bugs. I tell a lot of folks who have office plants that they can get rid of the mites without using chemicals. most bad spidermites have a web so if you look real close you may see the web. if you look real real close with a magnafier you will see the two spots.
