Hello Everyone, I live in hot sunny florida(zone 8b) and have been gardening for only a couple of years. Last year's garden was good. I planted tomatoes and peppers and had a decent harvest. I did have to deal with some pest which killed my green pepper plants. This year I once again planted tomatoes and peppers. I also added snap peas, lettuce and radish. At first everything was doing well. I harvested my radishes and waited for other plants to produce. Then about May things begin to die. First my tomatoes, then my lettuce. My pepper plants are still in the ground, but I gave up on them months ago. Something had been eating them but I never saw anything until today. It was the same nasty looking catipilar thing that was chewing on my tomatoes last year. I think it's called a horned worm and I don't know how to get rid of it. I would like to plant a winter garden, but realize I probably need to get rid of this pest first. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also on the subject of winter gardens: Does anyone have any suggestions on what month I should start planting. It doesn't even start getting cool until October. I would also like any suggestions on what grows well in North Florida. Thanks to everyone for all the great hints and tips I have gotten from this list. And Thanks in advance for the advice.
