Can you spare one square? If so, dig it out completely (12"x12"x12"),
fill the hole with compost or potting soil, then put the dug out soil in
a sturdy black plastic bag. Lay this, spread very flat, in the sun for a
week at least (Should get plenty hot enough to cook the Germies) then
dig another square out. Put the cooked soil in the new hole and the new
soil in the bag. Keep switching whenever you have an empty square.
