You might want to look at

Master Gardener's manual. Not much advice (just says to plant varieties
that grow when the insects are not active) but you might find it helpful. I
haven't personally had a problem with the bean beetles but the flea beetles
are a nuisance in some potted plants. Quite a few insecticides are labeled
for flea beetles.
