Re: butterfly bush and hydrangeas/update

For any who are interested: The butterfly bush "formerly known as 
winterkilled" is alive, thanks to the good advice I received to cut it clear 
back to green wood.  There was barely a tinge of green and I thought it was 
gone.  The cleome grew up and it was buried in a sea of it.  But the other 
day I was checking out the edge of my woodland garden and it nearly poked me 
in the eye(a beautiful purple spire--just one--jutting out of the cleome), 
halleluyaw!!!
