Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hello, This past year at school we put in 21 sqft gardens made with concrete
blocks. We used 10 blocks per sq and filled with potting soil. The inside
was 3ft x 3ft and we had 20 sm holes around the edge. The students planted
the inside blocks with a regular sqft spacing and we tried different spacing
with the holes. It worked out great. More crop in less space than the
regular 20 ft rows we have used for 21 years. I hope to convert all the
garden space over to block gardens this year for a total of 72 gardens. With
row gardes to demonstrate the row method. Two students shared a block. Over
the summer we covered the squares, some with newspaper, mulch, carpet and
used weed killer on some to see what worked out the best. The covers worked
best, with the weed killer I had to apply twice and still some did not die.
The covered blocks were 100% if the wind did not blow it off.
You can see some pictures of the gardens at:

This is a PhotoPoint Album where these pictures are I hope to get more up
this year as school gets going.
