Put my cedar board beds in this spring with no
treatment and they are already turning a nice shade of gray. Someone
mentioned rubbing them with some kind of oil for protection, but I don't
remember what kind it was. Just be sure it won't put any unhealthy residue
in the soil that comes in contact with the boards. I have seven 4x4 beds
and three 3x3's. Maybe by next year I'll have photos to upload. They
do look very pretty and I can't imagine cinder blocks having the same esthetic
appeal. Good gardening.
