The basil will kick the bucket just below 40 degrees. You could cover
tomatoes and peppers and keep them going or dig them and bring them inside.
Depends on whether your tomatoes are better than supermarket tomatoes and
how much you love tomatoes. Pepper plants are more compact.

One thing you could plant would be fava beans. They're frost tolerant.
Maybe beets, swiss chard, winter lettuce. Margaret L
