Before I get to BSE, let me once again ask everyone to
refrain from sending their own personal "happy holidays"
type message to the entire list. We go through this
every December and it's no more appropriate than if
you went into a large gardening convention and at the top
of your lungs demanded everyone's attention merely so
you could then say 'Merry Christmas' to them.
Hello, all. As the list admin, and knowing that
organic methods including bone meal are an important
part of the sqft method, I have no problem with this
thread as long as it sticks to risks for gardeners.
But rec.food.veg is a much better place to discuss
the risks of BSE/mad cow disease as it applies to
what is eaten by gardeners and non-gardeners.
I'm sorry, Bernie, but just because someone brings
up an off-sqft topic that interests *you* does not
mean it should be discussed on a list that serves
over 500 sqft gardeners. I do encourage people with
more information about this topic to email directly
who express interest.
Since this topic could easily turn into a vegetarian
vs non-vegetarian flame war, I ask that folks limit
themselves to gardening-related information about
BSE (and other prion-related diseases).
As an activist vegetarian, I have a lot of information
about prions/BSE/scrapies/TME/etc available. Email
me privately for more info.
I recommend anyone interested start with:
