Just planted corn last week in the cold frame that's wintering over the late 
planted stuff from last year.  It's coming up!  Silver queen.  And the stuff 
from last year has tassels!
I think I saw in the archives that Mel tried planting FOUR per square foot 
for one of his TV demos and was surprised at how well they did.  Might give 
that a try.  I planted some pickling cukes under them -- we'll see how they 
all do.  Keeping the crows out is going to be the challenge.
Late-breaking news flash: whatever it is that digs things up around here WILL 
dig up garlic planted in the unfenced herb area.  You wouldn't think, would 
you?  But the whole little area is scratched up.
