Before using builder's vermiculite, it might be best to find out
what's in it.  I have heard they use long-lasting herbicides and
it may contain other toxins which you would not want to put on a
garden although I never could verify this.  The people at Zonolite
did seem to know anything about it.   When I used it in large
quantities, I was always able to get it in large bags - about 3 cu
ft.- from nurseries.    -Olin
