Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Bill sent through this link to a site that has many different sqft ideas
and contraptions, among them a set of barells that traps rainwater that ran off
of a roof and through a raingutter. Now, a month or two ago I saw somebody
on this list cautioning somebody about using runoff that came from off of a
roof. (Sorry, cannot find that email now...) Is there really a problem
with doing this, and what is it? Does it depend on the roofing
materials?
I just always thought it would be a cool idea to catch such rainwater and
set up some sort of system that immediately uses it to water a garden or a
greenhouse. (Actually, my garden already is the unintended beneficiary
of a lot of shed run-off, down a tin roof...)
Does anybody know the issues here? (of if there ARE any
issues??) Thanks.
