Transplat "helpers" ;-)

Well, I've just spent the day recovering and/or replanting most of my
garden. It seems my 2 dogs felt they did not agree with the way I had
laid out the garden so they took it upon themselves to rearrange things.
This is despite the fact that I put up a small fence to keep them out.

It turns out they did not jump the fence, rather they squeezed through a
small space which has now been closed.

I actually feel fairly fortunate. The only things I lost were 2
lettuces and most of my early onions. The broccoli was fine and the
rest of the lettuces were OK once I unburied them.

However, the seeds I had direct sown were so dug up I had to redig and
replant those squares.

One good thing came out of this however. I discovered during the first
week of the garden that I had not watched the sun as well as I thought.
The area I had marked off for summer veggies (tomato, melon, etc.) was
being shaded during much of the morning. The need to replant gave me
the chance to redesign my layout to put more tolerant things in that
area.

Now that I've finished that I've been sitting with the catalogs planning
square foot flower beds for the front yard. :)
