Toni, You can definitely plant more than 2 in each square. The first year we did this we planted 9 and they got a bit leggy but we had a good harvest until the aphids got to them. So last year we planted 5 in each square. Go for it and try a few squares with more seeds. >Hi Toni. >I have the book and it says 9 bush beans per square foot. >I just planted them yesterday, and for the life of me, >I just couldn't imagine 9 bushy plants in that little >square foot. So I did a bad thing. I only planted two, >"catty-corner" to each other. Perhaps I am wrong, but >it really seemed crowded... >Good luck if you go niners >Shawn >swestaway@smtplink.coh.org >Claremont, Ca > > >>Question for you...How many seeds do you plant in a square foot for let's say >>bush beans, pole beans and cucumbers? I would also be interested in any good >>web sites you may know of that deal with square footing. ******************************* Natalie McNair-Huff Publisher/Editor Mac Net Journal http://www.blol.com/web_mnj/
