We don't water the lawn near our garden in the summer, but we do have soaker hoses set in the holes and on the grass between the holes. If we have a wet summer we always have problems with mildew so I spray with a baking soda/water solution to help prevent that. We've had success with teepees and trellis. However, I saw a neat idea recently where small A-frames were constructed on a sqare foot trench. Each pole for the A-frame was set on either side of the square foot and lashed together at the top. Maybe this would work better for you. We've done string teepee by planting a central pole then running string from the top to stakes pounded in around the bottom. We plant 4 beans around each stake. Last year we used recycled branches from a downed cascara tree. That also worked well.
