Kim, I guess I've been doing too much work and not having enough fun as I
have more 5 gallon soap containers than whiskey ones ;-)
Laura, I do have one whiskey barrel which is in a good sunny spot at the
corner of my patio. I only had lettuce and marigolds in it last year and I
will take your suggestion and try a "taxi" 'mater in it. I might try putting
carrots around them as I have lots of slugs who devoured my feeble attempt
at growing lettuce and marigolds last year. The local garden shop carries
Territorial seeds and I'll drop in and see if they have some, if not, I can
order direct now that I have their catalogue. I have started a little
notebook, but after 2 weeks have already outgrown it, so I'm starting a
bigger book. I think my next step is to lay out on paper where I plan to
put all my plants. Dot
