Re: World Zone Maps

USDA Zones are just that. United States Department of Agriculture. I
doubt you will find any international maps for US Ag Zones. However, for
those of you who are interested (and there seem to be a few), I typed up
the Zone Chart including sub zone breakdowns for both degrees C and F.
This should help those of you in other countries and those who want the
"official" word on US a/b zone designation. You will need to check with
your local weather service to see what the average annual minimum
temperature is for your area. Understand that the more generalized the
info the less accurate you will be in determining your zone. Many
microclimates may exist in a given zone area. If you live at the foot of
hills your AAMT could be less than that of someone a short distance away.
It might be to your advantage to keep records of your own over a period of
several winters to get more accurate information for your garden site.

Average Annual Minimum Temperature

Zone	Farenheit	Centigrade

1	-50 & Below	-45.6 & Below

4a	-30 to -25	-34.4 to -31.7

5a	-20 to -15	-28.8 to -26.2
5b	-15 to -10	-26.1 to -234
6a	-10 to -5 -23.3 to -20.6
6b	-5 to 0 -20.5 to -17.8
7a	0 to 5 -17.7 to -15.0
7b	5 to 10 -15.0 to -12.3
