Re: Garden Size Question

Last year I worked off of 64 square feet (2 4x8 beds). This
(even though partially shaded by trees, but those went away) was more than
adequite to provide salads every day. In some cases the lettuce and
spinch crops failed (or were bunnyized) and I had weird salads (nothing
but a little lettuce from the store, and lots of salad toys, carrots, green
onions, radishes, peppers...). This year I plan to be more deligent about
planing replacement lettuce. Last year I got caught up with everthing else
I was growing. A comment on Mels definition of feeding someone,
he specifically said veggies for salads. That is far different then
trying to do subsistance completely out of the garden. To feed yourself
three times a day out of the garden with nothing but food from the garden
would require more room. Of couse there is no reason you could not
sqft it...
