Re: Kim Kiernan's on cocoa mulch


What an interesting idea!  I've never seen any cocoa-related mulch product
for sale in the East or Midwest (only parts of the U.S. where I've done any
serious gardening).  Would it be available only in areas with chocolate
processing plants?

We're acidic here (my lawn soil is a vinegary 5.5 on the pH meter), but I'm
not sure how much influence decomposing mulch would exert on that anyway,
particularly if raked off the soil surface every year or so and replaced
with new mulch rather than deliberately incorporated once the breakdown
process has started.

Love the sound of that anti-week/admits water profile.
