If you want to turn it under, you will probably have to do so very well,
meaning you will have to just about shred the plants--otherwise the
intact roots will send up new shoots and you'll have weeds everywhere
(this happened to me one year). If you can simply pull up the plants
with less hassle, I would probably do so, then add them to the compost
pile; that way they'll get worked back into the garden eventually.
Incidentally, many "weeds" that grow along the side of the road (i.e. in
disturbed soils) are edible. If you're curious, you might want to check
what plant it actually is before dispensing with it.
