ring
with mulch..add another ring (made of 2 rose collars) and keep growing(when
the plant gets to the top of this level; fill it again with mulch and just
let
it grow ...I've been known to add another level..but this last season I kept
it as 2 rings high...I got about a dozen potatoes per plant this way. When
the plant dies back is the time to harvest..or you can wait a while ..it
won't
hurt them..just unsnap the collars and push aside the mulch.

That sounds like it would work well too. I just can't give over how easy it
is (or how I've read that it's so easy) to grow potatoes. I can remember
growing potatoes at my grandfather's. He always grew potatos. He grew them
in rows. I can remember him making a trench in the row and I would go behind
him and put the eyes in. Then he'd cover them up using a hoe.
He had this hand plow he'd use and he'd plow right through the middle of the
row when we harvested the potatoes. I had the job of finding all the
potatoes. I would be so covered in dirt!! LOL. It was really fun though.
Sometimes I wish I could just go back for a visit to that time in my life. It
really ment alot to me.
