Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi Everyone,
I have been off the list since it went on ListBot--I really needed the
digests so I could keep up. Anyway, it's almost garden season, and I am
feverishly planning my beloved community garden plot--plans made
especially interesting by the fact that I am 6 1/2 months pregnant with
my second child! Luckily, my due date is about a month after the frost
date, so I should be able to get my tomatoes and peppers in before the
baby gets here!
Anyway, I am a public librarian and among the donations I found a copy
of "Square Foot Gardening", paperback of course, and in very good
condition. Since I have a copy of my own, I am looking for a good home
for it--the only thing I'd ask is that you re-imburse me for the
postage.
I bought half a pound of peas in the supermarket this weekend and now I
am dreaming more than ever of picking my own fresh peas. Last year here
in Northern VA (Zone 7) the heat got my plants before I could get the
peas, so I am going to start them very very VERY early this year in
peatpots in my backyard. I am going to stick to garden peas rather than
sugar snaps--anyone got any faves?
Since I never seem to get to my garden enough in the summer to regularly
water things, I am going to try cucumbers on my patio this summer. Has
anyone tried them in containers, and if so, can you give me any
recommendations?
Wishing that this mild sunny weather would continue, but noticing that
they're predicting snow showers on Saturday I am..........
