The definition of organic is easy. It means made up of carbon
compounds. All plants and animals that I know of are organic for
the most part. Most rocks are not organic (though slate and shale
are). Gasoline is organic. Carbon Monoxide is organic. Water is
_not_ organic.
Yes, I'm using the chemical definition. It is consistent. The
political definition of organic changes with the wind. (Methane
is organic).
