Re: Regular Potatoes

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I use a modified version of a Mel technique. I dig out about a foot and then
loosen the soil left, then I bury one seed potato in the loosened soil per
square foot. After the tubers sprout and grow a few inches, I mix the soil I
dug out with compost and use it fill in the hole as the growing plant
emerges. I probably backfill 3 times over the emerging plant. Then I just
leave them to grow. I don't plant mine as early as February because it's
still very rainy then and they'd likely rot instead of sprout. I've been
trying to use St Patrick's day as a reminder of when to plant them.
