Gro-Bulbs (Was Re: Seed Starting

Are gro-bulbs really necessary?  I've read that regular ol' shop lights will
work just as well and I've had good luck with them.  I love the refrigerator
trick...if I can ever clear the clutter off of there, maybe I'll try it!
