Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

beans. -Olin

*Since I'm not there in the book yet, and am covering bareroot, greenhouse,
mushroom issues etc, can you illicidate upon how
many portions per annum that is? While it hardly seems
sufficient for breakfast, while one the other hand, green
beans once week for dinner would suffice.

Upon what usage mix is this predicated? My estimates were
based upon 2 SqFt, and one '15 oz can' or 8oz per week
during the (3 month?) growing season. This would
extrapolate to 8-10 SqFt. Is 32Sq Ft meant for two
servings per week/ Curious.

AND if pole work better for you, and your space is limited,
they are claimed to have a slightly higher output per SqFt.
Not as much bending over either!

Side Note: pH; Am very grateful for additional info
Re: Louisiana. I recall the ammended soil... guess
what, compost is usually alkaline. You say graet soil,
heavily composted I believe I reacll. I THINK that's the
answer here!!! Cool. To make a tiny bit more acid,
check levels of other nutrients, as when you add ammonia
sulfate, you also add Nitrogen. There' also iron sulphate,
flowers of sulphur, peat, (but you say the soil is already
darn good, is this an expense -peat- you want?)

I am learning a lot. If there is any criticism of my
thoughts, I actively request them, preferably right here.
I want to be criticised constructively, and Thank you In
Advance for your time and energy. I really appreciate
the input!!!!! I want to help, but I also post for this
very reason... so you can say, 'Yes, but you missed...'
Then I understand more. I consider us friends-in-hobby,
and put all ego aside.

Alkaline soil in Louisiana was a Who-Dunnit-Mystery to me.
I have now seen a true life example of compost being generally
alkaline, which I've only read about. I won't forget it.
Thanks for the additional input!

Greenhouses, an old List ColdGH I think, on onelist,
is rebirthing. Jeff Ball's "60 minute Garden" has loop tunnels,
which may be adaptable for SqFt. I have PVC structures,
large & small, in mind.
