*Yes, they do. One book suggested at a dime apiece, you
can get a device to help you make your own. It's a sort
of a press that does 4 at a time.
I forgot to say, I will save some peat from blueberry
planting this year, and try toilet tissue cardboards,
bottomless (maybe cut in 1/2) on a tray, and stuffed
with peat. I know water affects them fast, so I'll
limit the experiment.
Odd, peat is considered acid, but is good for stating
plants. i know I've used a piece of tissue, seeds,
another piece of tissue, and just enough water to
keep the seeds moist. The tissue becomes transparent,
so you can see progress. I add vinegar to the water
(same pH as peat) at a rate of about 1 drop per
teaspoon, to reatrd molds. This is done in other
related industries, and is why a gal is slightly
acid herself.
