Hello,
Nice to see life back in the group. This will be my second year using a
product called "Parks Starts" to germinate my seeds. At the risk of putting
you all to sleep let me attempt to explain "Parks Starts". Start with a
"brick" shaped piece of Styrofoam about 3 inches wide by 6 inches long by
2.5 inches "deep". The "brick" has 18 holes in which one inserts a pre
dibbed "peat sponge" approximately 3/4 inch diameter by 2.25 in length. I
take 5 to 6 of these bricks, insert seeds and place into a standard 10.5
inch by 21 inch (approx meas)black plastic tray which also has a clear
plastic dome lid. I place something (anything 2 inches or so thickness) at
each end of the tray to elevate it so I can place my standard home heating
pad underneath. After the true leaves appear simply pop out the peat sponge
to transplant. I achieved between 95 and 100% germination rates by using
this method. Although I did not have good results with Parks seeds as a
whole, I do recommend their "Parks Starts".
Charlie
