As a former resident of the San Fernando Valley ( Northridge)now living in Orange County, I did a lot of gardening there. No, the Sunset Gardening Zones are not the same as the zones generally referred to by gardeners. You are probably in Zone 9. Your selection of plants for this time of year was good except for the peppers. They are a warm season plant, and may freeze this time of the year, especially in this very wet, cool weather southern California has had this winter. Otherwise they may just sit there and not grow until it warms up some, probably in April. I usually planted peppers and tomatoes no earlier than the first of April. Happy gardening. It's a lot of fun. I got hooked on it almost 50 years ago.
