Tangy tomatoes


Dear Square Footers,
I don't think I've written anything to this list before, although I've
been lurking for several months. I've been doing organic square-foot
gardening of herbs and vegetables for at least three years. I was a real
skeptic for years but got the book "Cash From SFG" in a yard sale and it
made sense to me.

Now I have about 250 square feet in raised beds. I'm not as obsessive as
Mel but the system has helped me feel more "on top" of what I'm doing
and saves a lot of hassle since no one (except the dogs) walks on the
garden soil.

My question today concerns tomatoes. I have been gardening for 40 years
(I'm real old) and over the years the flavour of tomatoes have changed.
All the current varities are touted as being sweet. Well, I hate sweet
tomatoes. I like my tomatoes to be nice and acid, the crankier the
better for me. I'm looking for a real, old-fashioned, tangy tomato. 

Can anyone recommend a varity for me? I've thought of just getting some
Rutgers seed and starting them. But I thought I'd ask you guys first. I
know there's a Totally Tomatoes seed business but, did I save their addy
and phone number when it was posted? Noooooo! If anyone has it, I
promise to save it.
