Does anyone have any comment or experience using old railroad ties for a
raised bed? I am considering setting up some raised beds using old railroad
ties, and have heard of some precautions because of the preservatives that
may be found in the wood. I have also heard that ifyou wrap the railroad
ties in plastic garbage bags, there is no danger of these chemicals leaching
out into the soil. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help or
advice would be greatly appreciated, TIA,, and please reply to
