Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
The beans I have grown for the last 2 years are Violet Podded Stringless.
The description is as follows:
(OP) 70 days. Like purple beans in general, Violet Podded Stringless
germinates well in cool soil and its flowers are usually the first to appear
on the sturdy 5 foot tall plants. The pods are rounded shaped, highly
refined and maintain their very good flavor and tenderness even when the
become 6-7 inches long. Sets beans abundantly. The beans turn green when
cooked and on occasion are not completely purple. Brown seeded. Seeds per
ounce: 105.
I got the sampler pack priced at $1.05, and that lasted me 2 years. Yes,
the seeds were viable this year, but I kept all my seeds in a quart canning
jar, sealed up, in the refrigerator. These seeds came from Territorial Seed
Company, 1541-942-9547 http://www.territorial-seed.com
My garden is not totally organic, but I find the best variety of seeds from
the organic seed carriers, and I'm impressed that the seeds really do last
more than one year.
Hope this helps!
Holly
