Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Johnnie,
I'm not sure how many seeds we planted...I'm going to guess about 60
altogether. These Violet Podded Stringless really do produce, and they
produce well for a long time.
This is taken from the Ball Blue Book. I think the version of this book is
the 1995 version.
Amount of food to be grown and preserved for a family of 6 persons:
Green Beans: pounds to grow for preserving: 120 pounds
quarts to preserve: 60
yield per 100 foot row 60 pounds
foot row length needed: 200
plants or seeds (oz) to grow: 16
days to maturity: 40-60
depth to plant seed: 1/2 inch
distance between plants 4 inches
distance between rows 18-24
I do not follow these guidelines, especially those for the distance between
plants and distance between rows.
Hope this helps, though.
