Many people do not understand how a mailing list like this one works. It is
run completely by computer automation. The list administrator is usually
just the contact person and usually doesn't have much control over what the
computer robots do or don't do.
If you signed up by sending an email with a particular email address, then
only that address has the authorization to unsubscribe because it has to
match up with the email address in the list file.
This can be a problem if a person's email address has changed. In a case
like that, some human being will have to contact the system administrator of
the server where the list is hosted, and that system administrator will have
to go manually into the list file on that server and edit the file to remove
the old email address that wants to unsubscribe.
When I went to the root of the website, I got this message:
This facility is operated by webmaster@pkiclue.com. If you feel you have
reached this site in error, please contact us by email.
Under listinfo, I found this message:
Send questions or comments to mailman-owner@xena.pkiclue.com.)
You should be able to get some help by contacting one of the above email
addresses.
Please do not kill this list. It is a great source of pleasure and
encouragement to a lot of people who are otherwise spread out across the
country and not in touch with others interested in squarefoot gardening.
For those who do know how they got on the list, it seems like this list may
have started out on Yahoo, and then migrated here because of all of the
hassles involved with the Yahoo lists. I'm not sure, because I am probably
on about 50 different mailing lists, but I think I remember that scenario.
Anyway, please don't pick on J.C. Dill, because my maiden name was Dill, so
I feel like part of the family!!!
