Hey everyone
Its Dave down south. Just want to tell everybody that I planted my
first SQFT garden on june 6 1997 and I harvested my first squash on July
3 1997. Its great and I will soon be harvesting everything. Now what I
wanted to write about. There has been several posting about what would
be cheap borders or box building material. Well down south we are lucky
enough to have local sawmills. I go there and pick up the bark side
cuts called slabs. Most of the time you can find around an 8 foot
section about an inch thick that you can use to build your boxes with.
This material is not treated, still green, and it will give your box a
rustic look. Down south we can usually find cedar and cyprus slabs
which last for a long time. Best of all you can pick these up for free
or cheaply. see you in the garden.
Dave
