trellised melons

I'm late planting, but still hoping to sneak in a crop of Charentais
melons, grown vertically.
I would appreciate any tips on growing melons on a trellis.
I have the nylon cord 7 inch mesh on a wood frame.  Is the nylon mesh
sufficient, or should I run individual twine lines for the melon plants?
Any tips on tieing, support, mulching, etc. would be appreciated.
