Hi there,
I'm in CT zone 6. so I plant my top onion sets in oct or around the same
time I would plant tulip bulbs. I plant garlic now too for bigger bulbs. I
stick them 6" deep 2" apart 36 bulbs to a sq ft. I get growth before first
frost and I mulch both the onions and the garlic to prevent frost heave. Hope
