Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Dear ListMembers,
My apologies for the delayed reply.... a few days and $$$
later and I've new hardware for my computer and am
back online <sigh>.
Thank you, to each one of you who offered up suggestions
for my dilemma in trying to protect my raised beds from
the neighbor's loose dogs.
I tried using an odor-neutralizer followed up by liberally
sprinkling chili-pepper on the corners, and when that
didn't work, I loosely hung black plastic trash bags
on the corners from stakes. That one REALLY didn't
work, as the dogs must have gotten startled by them,
and smashed right through my German Queen tomatoes,
green peppers and Jerusalem artichokes. The dogs
blazed a clear path of destruction right across 3 of my
raised beds <unhappy look>.
Thankfully, my 4 1/2 foot wooden fence (lined with nice,
sturdy fencing wire!) is now completely up. The German
Queens never did fully recover from the trauma done to
them, but I'm happy to report that the peppers and artichokes
look as though they'd never been trampled. And the
neighbor's dogs are no longer visiting my raised beds.
I really do appreciate all of the very good advice you gave
me.....and I'm grateful to be able to bring my questions
to you in this forum.
....with best wishes for an abundant harvest...
Chomi
