Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
If this mint is like any that I've ever grown, then it will not take alot of
work to divide. In fact, my chocolate mint and lemon mint are more like a
garden kudzu. (just smells better!)
When I trim my mint back to keep it from taking over, I trim it back 1 inch
above ground level leaving a few small leaves on the plants. I then take the
"stalks" I trimmed off place it in a vase of water and in a week the mint has
formed roots. The last time I did this about 6 weeks ago I had 3 plastic
tumblers full of mint. It is now time to trim it again!! I give my cuttings
away, because they smell so good.
When I got my mints, I was told to contain the roots to keep it from
spreading - no one told me that it would come over the top of the container
and spread. We have the best smelling house on the block when we cut grass!!!
