Would it be OK to use sumac brush in a hot compost pile? I have oodles
of grass/greens but not enough carbons/browns. I used up all of last falls
leaves in the first pile of 200 or so bushels. We have an abundance of
sumac that nobody cares for so I could put it in the pile.
Next year I will have more browns as some neighbors will be giving me
there leaves. There is the fact that the leaves will be already partly
decomposed when put in with the grass but you sure couldn't prevent that
till the grass comes back.
