Re: Bats and slug bait

Ok, here is what I've done in bad years. I plant young marigolds all over
the place. Meanwhile, I start new marigolds from seeds. They are so very
easy to start from seed.
I go out at night and yank out the marigold plants that are covered with
slugs. The next day I replant the yanked out marigolds with the next batch
of marigold seedlings.
How did I devise this method. By watching many marigold plants destroyed by
slugs over the years. The slugs seem to love them. Finally it dawned on me
to "trap" the slugs with the marigolds.
Another favorite of slugs in my garden--thyme!!!
Oh, by the way, I don't mulch marigolds or thyme. Doesn't matter. The slugs
find them anyway.
Hope this helps.
