This is the final chapter in the Early Tomato Experiment. This began with
my placing in pots two Pixie tomato plants, at the same time that I was
transplanting to my garden squares. During the period when nighttime
temps. were still below 55 deg. F, these two potted plants were moved
indoors every night.
The result was that I had fruit on the potted plants before the ones in
the soil had started to bloom. I am just now beginning to pick fruit from
the plants in the soil. The plants in the pots have done there thing and
gone on to there just reward. The two potted plants produced a total of
79 tomatoes.
I hope to repeat this experiment in the late fall, with the objective of
picking ripe tomatoes on Christmas Day.
