The culprits are leaf hoppers and they do make eggplant leaves look like
Swiss cheese. For a botanical remedy that works better than Sevin (which I
tried last year, and it only slowed down the lace making), use Neem. Two
applications, each a week apart, were all I used this year, and I haven't
had any reoccurance.
