Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Tracy,
I've seen a novel
use of old clawfoot-style bathtubs in gardens; paint the outside of the
tub and do some free-hand sunflowers (or your favorites) on it. Set in a
nice garden location and plant some flowers around it. Then, use a plug to
stop the water flowing out, fill it in the morning and let it warm in the
sun. After working in the garden, you can take a nice dip in your tub to
cool down and clean up while enjoying the fruits of your gardening labors.
Use a natural soap that won't hurt your plants and when you finish your soak,
let the water out to water them. You might even rig up a drip or soaker
system to take the waste water where
you want it. Don't forget to fill the tub again for the next day's
soak. Of course, the bathing part relies on a bit of privacy, but you may
have that in the former berry thicket. You can always create some privacy
- try a curved wall of the stock panel we've all been posting about and cover it
with more flowers and/or vining veggies or fruits.
Happy Gardening,
Paula Dominique

Subject: Garden DesignHi Everybody and thanks for reading my message. I've just finished planting and seeding my temporary beds. This summer I plan to start work on my "Garden Area" (I need to find a name for it). I've been dreaming about this area for three years. The area used to be overgrown with blackberry vines and when we cut them all out we realized that the previous owners had also used it for the dumping area. Rocks, logs, toy trucks, metal containers, and an old-fashioned bathtub. I'm keeping the tub to use as a planter and have gotten rid of the rest. I plan to till the whole area and build great beds from scratch. I would love to see pictures of others gardens to get ideas on design my area. So if you would send me your website addresses I would love. I've collecting a few as a read your posts. I"ve really enjoyed this list. Everyone have a great day and thank you for your replies.Tracy Lusbyzone 8McCleary, Washington"Life begins when you start a garden."______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to sqft-unsubscribe@listbot.com Start Your Own FREE Email List at http://www.listbot.com/
