Sharon: This is the first year in 8 that we have had such a problem and I
believe it was because of a mild winter and I kept a heavy mulch on the
garden and tried "no till" which I love but obviously doesn't destroy many
bugs.
I usually put the chicken tractor in the garden and move it all around so
they can dig (before I plant of course) but this year my husband broke his
leg, etc., etc. absolutely no time for anything other than just planting
and work!
Please do let us know how your experiment goes. One of the reasons I like
the toothpick is it just disappears and I don't have to pick up anything
like foil, etc. Same with the magazine paper or newspaper so that is a big
plus for me.
Thanks
Barbara
