cutworm experiment upday

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi All, still battling here but we are no on the offensive and winning, it
is now clear that the syrofoam cups are the best preventative, the
toothpicks would be my second choice. I find as the seedlings grow they
push the stick barriers things out of the way leaving room for attack, I
have removed some of the stick barriers and replace with cups......one thing
of interest out of the beans the cutworms seem to be leaving the "Royal
Burgandy" beans alone, I have lost very few, I know this sounds weird but
could it be because the stems are not green, anyway I just thought I would
let those who are interested know how things are going.....Sharon in Ontario
