free tomato seeds!

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi folks - I am cleaning out my seed storage area in the fridge and have
decided to give away some tomato seeds. They are from Tomato Growers
Supply Company and are for the 1997 season. I've still had luck
germinating seeds even from 1994, so these should still be fine. They
are all heirloom varieties: Goliath, Black Plum, Hugh's, Costoluto
Genovese. I also have seeds from 1998 from Totally Tomatoes for Pink
Brandywine, Yellow Brandywine and Red Brandywine.

If anyone wants them I'd be happy to mail them to you. Also, if you
want more info, ie. type of tomato, indeterminate vs. determinate, yield
time, just let me know.

The reason I'm getting rid of these is that I think I'll just stick to
buying my tomatoes from the nursery. I just buy 1 of each variety, only
about 5 plants total. Since I cage them, not doing the vertical Mel
way, I don't need very many plants. I tried the vertical way and I had
major sunscald problems. I guess there wasn't enough leaf cover to shade
the fruit. Also, hybrids perform better for me for some reason.

Anyway, these are good tomato seeds and I hate to see them wasted.
Heirloom tomatoes I know do great for lots of people and many people
prefer them to hybrids.
